This custom bank note was produced especially for the 1958 air day.

In 1978 the Communications centre at HMS Daedalus was awarded this Bronze COMSTAR in recognition of fast and accurate communications.

 

The following year in 1979, the base did one better and was awarded this Silver COMSTAR in recognition of its fast and accurate communication.

This press release was issued in 1994 to publicise the D-Day celebration at HMS Daedalus. This release provides a detailed description of the aircraft from many different nations that took part in the fly over.
