Groundwork has been working with digital mapping since the mid 1990's. During this time we have built up a broad-based and flexible system of national maps and electronic databases - supplemented by very local information for key areas.
Groundwork's GIS Services reflect its wider programmes and range from high level national & regional level work to very local neighbourhood mapping & consultation. We work on 'GIS-led' projects, but also regularly combine GIS with other skills, which might include:
- Community development
- Access to green spaces
- Ecology
- Landscape architecture
- Advice to businesses

Many organisations recognise the benefits of using GIS in particular projects, but either do not have a GIS themselves or find that their GIS staff are already fully committed. Groundwork has lots of experience in providing flexible services for clients and partners based on using GIS to solve real-life problems.
