Support for Partnerships

Groundwork has many years experience of acting as an ‘honest broker', a partnership builder or an active member in established partnerships. However, multi-agency partnerships face a number of challenges when they come to develop joint action plans.

Groundwork has used GIS effectively to:

  • map partners' areas of coverage (or priority) to identify overlaps and gaps
  • to aid decision making and build concensus
  • map the locations of specific projects, proposals and locations
  • map the more general issues affecting an area (either physical or demographic)
  • enable partners to exchange specialist databases (such as police, health or local authority) by creating a web-based central index of GIS files - see the metadata page for more details.
The map below shows the distribution of community facilities in an area of Southampton. It brought together information previously held by three seperate organisations.

Groundwork can also help groups of organisations work together by creating a web-based central index of GIS files. See the metadata page for more details.
